The Night Watch
Aug. 27, 2003 ] 7:42 PM
How sweetly you sleep now, the face upturned in its innocence,
So bright it seems an angel fell to earth
And fell hard enough, that the wings flamed in one brief moment,
A conflagration that destroyed and gifted my mortal eyes.

I feast upon you.
Those elegant lips.
Those feathery brows.
Those slanted eyes.
Composed now,
Those twinned souls.
Now hidden beneath.

Darkness and light.
