Unease
Aug. 2003 ] 7:51 PM
This dullness,
Glitters like the tarred road
Behind me
And leading inexorably on
Into the deep gravity of the night.
In dewdrops, raindrops, blue refracted reflections
Shattering along stark-white edges
Of lamplights, streetlights, carlights.
Quietness now. This
Clicking of keys, this stiffness of limbs,
The road is still plotted out
On pale slick paper.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Synchronised breaths.
The lifting of the heads.
The sleeting of the eyes.
We begin again.
This dullness.
